Brighton put five past Grimsby Town to reach the last four of the FA Cup in emphatic fashion.
Brighton were ahead inside six minutes after Moises Caicedo fired a sharp low strike at Grimsby keeper Max Crocombe, who made the initial stop but fumbled the ball, allowing Deniz Undav to bury the rebound into the top left corner.
They made it two after the restart when Alexis Mac Allister found Evan Ferguson inside the area. The 18-year-old, facing away from goal, brought down the ball with his left foot then neatly transferred it to his right before firing home.
Brighton extended their lead to make it 3-0 when Undav slipped the ball to Ferguson and the Republic of Ireland international scored his second of the afternoon with a composed finish as he directed the ball into the bottom
left corner.
Solly March put the game firmly out of reach when he latched onto a pinpoint cross from Adam Webster and sent a diving header past Crocombe to make it 4-0, before a last-minute deflected strike from Kaoru Mitoma.
